A Naij.com correspondence has unveiled the only welder in Delta State, an indigene of Enugu but given birth to in Aniocha Area of Delta in 1993. She owns a welding workshop along the ever busy Onitsha/Benin expressway, opposite the Asaba airport.
In an interview granted Naij.com correspondent, Miss Happiness Ozoalor, 23, prior to becoming a welder worked with a Caretime Company specialized in the production of hair relaxer and air freshener in Asaba. Her interest in welding was inspired after a five years close observation of welders close to where she lived.
Miss Ozoalor only has a secondary school education which she later on applied for training under one Mr Emeka Isichei for two years between 2012 and 2013 with an only agreement fee.
It was further gathered that her parents never discouraged her from instances of parents not desiring for their children to go into trade that are not feminine in nature. She said they only told her of the effects welding has on the eyes as a result of too much exposure to radiation.
Naij.com also learnt that Miss Ozoalor's father later passed on in June 2014 which forced her mother to relocate to Enugu and being the first child from her mother's end, because her father married three wives, she had to make a living which she found in welding and she won't give up the profession to any man because of marriage.
Miss Ozoalor didn't had it that smooth as she encountered challenges being an only woman occupying a man's domain. She told of the event of how she was nearly kicked out of business because of pressure to join the association which she was ignorant of. She spoke of the benefits the she enjoyed being the only female as she was guided and protected.
She ended the interview by advising young women like her not to go about sleeping with men as the only way out in life. She admonished them to release their minds and think on something positive to do as no good and decent woman go into prostitution.
