Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday departed Abuja airport for Zambia ahead of the Southern country's general election scheduled on October 11 2016.

Jonathan will be leading the Short Term Team of African Unions Election Observation Mission ( AUEOM) From 1st to 15th of August.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has seize four houses worth N872million belonging to former Fct minister Bala Mohammad and his son, Shamsudeen Bala, The Nation reports.

The ex-minister is being investigated for alleged fictitious contract of about N1billion, allocation of 12 choice plots of land worth billions of naira and 37 commercial plots of land worth about N8billion to his suspected front named Tariq Hammoud as well as the controversial N1trillion Abuja land swap.

Among the connived suspects is one Ms Jamila Tangaza who resigned her appointment with BBC on the request of the ex-minister and appointed her as a Senior Special Assistant on Media and Information and was linked to Bala land allocation dealings and her house worth N158million seized. She was charged with abuse of office which she awarded N800million contract to her company Songbird Multimedia and was reported pleading bail while serving detention.

Another interesting development is the son of the former Fct minister Shamsudeen whom was allocated 12 choice plots of land and his four duplexes costing about N222million in the Apo Area of Abuja was seized.
Speaking on the fate of the former Fct boss, the Efcc source said that he is yet to be invited for questioning that they are closing in on him. Meanwhile, the source debunked the rumour that Ms Jamila was handcuffed to her office for documents.

The story of the 3yrs old boy who can memorize the complete Holy Qur'an is continuing to generate reaction in the ancient city of Zaria. Many residents were amazed to learn that the boy cannot only memorize the complete Holy Qur'an but has won an international competition.

Muhammad Shamsuddeen Aliyu was enrolled into the professor Ango Abdullahi  international school, Zaria when he was one-and-half before he was 3, he memorized the entire Holy Qur'an.

He achieved that feat through a school programme that allow children to register into a boarding programme from the age one. His father Dr. Aliyu Shamsuddeen who doubles as the head of the school said the wisdom behind administering children from a tender age is the fact that at that stage, the brain easily assimilate education.
